Default Need help....JUN III Setup or JRSC?

Hey guys, I currently am driving a 01 GSR. I have all the mods and then some..
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
JUN Stage III cams with Valvesprings and retainers
ITR AEM CAI
DC Sports 4-1 Header
2.5 Inch cat
ITR Catback exhaust
CTR Pistons (Not installed Yet)
(Im running the JUn cams off a ITR ECU).

My question is should I go with this setup or should i get JRSC. I tried selling my JUN III a while ago and people flaked on me. They are good cams i just want power. What would you guys do. Would this NA setup be sufficient enough?

what do you do w/ your car..go straight or turn? W/ the CTR`s installed plus tuning I`d be happy w/ the power. If you just wanna go straight, sell the cams/pistons and buy a used turbo kit.

i never recommend a jrsc setup.. id rather swap a stock d16 into my car than run a jrsc.... but thats just me....

btw... im sure people were flakin on ya b/c no1 wanted to send you the ITR cams while you took your merry ol time sendin out the jun3's ..i woulda picked em up myself if you were willing to be a little more flexible with how you were setting up the deal.

I would keep it NA, but Im a bit biased. Like vtecvoodoo said the CTR pistons will kill it. Just get a VTEC controler, take it to a good shop and have it tuned. The setup won't make as much HP as JRSC, but it's much better (stable). If you must do forced induction once again like vtecvoodoo said, do turbo. JRSC .

the way you had explained to me was you were going to wait until you recieved my cams... then swap them out when you had time... think you said it would take a week or so.

Get a reprogrammed ecu.(or Hondata)
It should make significant difference.

Drop the pistons in also.

I think you have a great setup.
Just need lil more work to squeeze out more power.

O yeah, don't even think about leaving the CTRs in if you do JRSC. BOOM.

I've heard that the Mugen computer acualy works better with the JUNs from a group that has them, (go figure) but its still $$.

Just to help reinforce your na setup. I have the JUN type 3 setup in my type r, and I have never lost to a supercharged honda. I ran a 13.9 at 4500 ft. from what I have been told and through the other studying that I have done that is close to a 13.1 to 13.2 @ sea level. The JUN cams is awesome, I totally agree with you keeping that setup.

I would go with the JUN ecu though. I don't think anyone can tune their cams as well as they can. I guess it would be fun to have the ability to tune your car with hondata or something like that, but JUN really knows what they are doing with their cams. They will tune your car for your exact setup. cams, compression, rev limiter, exhaust, intake manifold, anything like that.

ImportReview seems prefer the Mugen ecu(not sure if it's the actual N1) to be used with the JUN Type 3's.

I'm also sure that Yoshio @ Jap-Auto has several JUN programs for various apps.
If you're interested, check with Godspeed.

im going to try Yoshio, is there a way i can get in contact with him. Ive been to their website but never recieved any return emails. When JUN comes to eanglishtown, they always lend out their ecu to a friend of mine. But at least i have the mugen chip to work with. BTW does the mugen program keep the stock ITR VTEC crossover at 5700? If anyone else is interested i have an ITR ECU (2000) with the immobilzer removed.

My Mugen clone came with a VTEC x-over @ 4400 rpm but I had it changed to 5000rpms in my modded b16a. My buddy runs the EXACT same ECU (PR3 with Mugen) in his LS/VTEC with Toda B's and is VERY strong.....Dyno should be next month on both setups.

JUNS have a nasty breakup if VTEC point isnt optimized (usally 5700)
