Can you put a b18c5 intake manifold on a b16a1 engine? if possible, how much hp can you expect to gain?

Don't know about hp gain,but b series is b series and it will fit. Shouldn't be a huge gain but I would imagine it will flow better

 

Alright, is it generally easy to swap the manifolds?

 

I am pretty sure that one from a b18c will not fit the b16a but I think the b18c5 from the type r will work.
I could be wrong but I think the ports on the head are not the same.

 

The ITR manifold will fit on the B16A head. The ITR manifold will not fit on the LS or GSR heads (with the exception of the B17A). In order to use the ITR manifold on the B16A, you will also need to use a ITR or GSR fuel rail. This is because of the placement of the air intake temp sensor on the #2 runner instead of the #1 runner. As for HP gains, unless you also use Type-R cams and a larger throttle body, you probably won't see more than 2-3 hp if that. You will probably also lose some power in the lower RPM range.

Incorrect...ITR will fit B16a and late B17a. It will not fit LS, Gsr, CRV.
