it was idling fine. then all of a sudden the engine light came on and after a couple of seconds it just died. tried to start it back up, but it sputered and died. after that it would just crank but won't fire up at all. checked for spark and its sparking. and it seems like its getting fuel cuz i smell it whenever i continually crank it. could it be the main relay? pls. help me out here! i'm desparate
Did you check codes?
Why do I ask questions I already know the answers to?

not getting a code right now. the car just won't start.
If your check engine light came on, theres a code.
How hard is it to count the dots on your ECU?
Don't expect us to be able to help you, if you can't help yourself.

down pat ! down , back boy . if he keeps turning the key off and on it reset the ecu . start digging dude it`s gonna be something silly probably
The ECU will only be reset if he disconnects the battery or pulls the ECU fuse. All he has to do is pull the carpet off of it and count the blinks.
I'm sorry, but its frustrating when people expect you to fix thier car just by them telling you it has spark.

I agree.
I will check again after the CEL has been determined.

sorry. i don't have very much experience with crx's. i just bought the car and i deal mostly with egs's. i'll do a search on how to do a cel check on obdo's. thanx ne way.
pull the carpet back on the passenger side, turn the key to the ON position and count the number of blinks on the ecu. Long blinks count as 10 (i.e. 2 long blinks and 1 short one will be 21; 5 short ones is a code 5, etc)
