I know the backlash has hit you hard, but they are all just ignorant ********. Live your life the way you want to live it, and don't change yourself or your habits just because of a bunch of ********.

I sincerely hope you'll stay. Give it a day or so to let yourself cool off and then make a decision about whether or not to leave. Get some perspective first.

The minority can make themselves seem like the majority by being very loud. Rest assured that these people number in the few. This counrty isnt perfect, but its a hell of a lot better than what the Japanese had to deal with in WWII.

You are a Pakistani and a Muslim. I am an Indian and a Christian. Looks like we should really hate each other, right? But we don't. And that is the message this world must receive if we are to improve ourselves at all.

I understand your point about 'not reading' but its hard not to read when its your very beliefs they are questioning and twisting. On top of that I have had to deal with a lot fvcked up **** in the 'real world' because of attitudes and perceptions further propogated by the likes of the people in that post. Everything from having the ITR keyed to having my fiance call the police in the middle of the night cause of people demanding she open the door. I read a poll that roughly 50% of americans would endorse having Muslim and Arab americans have special Identification. the case goes on. I cant help but get worked up about it when I see posts that lay at the root of the problem...so thats why I am going to take a break.

I would disagree with that statement. I think the vast majority of people throughout the U.S. (I haven't lived elsewhere, no implications except for here) are intelligent and want to do the right thing. That includes tolerating people with different backgrounds, ethnicities, and viewpoints, and treating them with respect and decency.

However, the small minority of people here who do not feel that way get all the attention. Unfortunately, if you live on a block with 100 people, and 99 are good people who are sympathetic to your plight as a minority and 1 keys your car, it's too easy to draw the conclusion that everyone sucks.

 

Unfortunately, it looks like it's not 1 out of 100.

You know SpeedPak, We all come here to this message forum because we all have something in common. We love cars and it just so happens to be Hondas. As long as we talk about cars we can tune out the rest of the world. Kind of like an escape for me. Sometimes differences show up amongst us. In a way that is good, but just as it can be good, it can also be bad also. Understand that the actions or thoughts of a few shouldn't drive you away from this forum. Think of it as an escape for the burdens of life like I do and you'll be just find. I've been here long enough to know that some people, no matter how hard you try to convince them, will never think or act like you. You have to accept that. Don't let it get to your head. I'm not saying this to just you, but to everyone else that decides to leave. Everyone here makes this forum goes around. That's why we need everyone here.
