Default Nurburgring time lap

Look at these times on Nurburgring.
The stock ITR is faster then Corvette 339 Hp and old M3 with track setup and close to S4 and Lotus Exige.

Yeah they took the X5 and threw a monster engine in it from a Le Mans car, then got Hans Stuck to thrash it around the 'ring. Crazy, no?

No, that's not an SUV. It sounds like a F-series car driven by Hans Stuck.

BTW, how about a sport wagon...

8,17 = 151 km/h 2001 Audi RS4 375 hp Sports Packet and R-tires, Horst von

That's bad-a@@.

One problem with this listing though, the drivers are all different. That is a wickedly hard (and deadly) course, and the driver makes far more difference than the vehicle ever will.

The BMW M3 CSL did the run in under 8 min (about 30 sec faster than the standard e46 M3). That makes it close to the porsche GT2 and if they make it and sell it here may only cost $70K or so. Any info on the z06 vette? I'll bet it is close to 8 min

I didn't think anyone else ever knew about that Renault Espace... That was one wild ride.. I've heard those motors shriek up close and personal... They run what...
14,000 rpm at about 800 HP... mid mounted in a minivan.. with the suspension and tires from the current ( at the time ) Williams F1 racr car..

YES PLEASE

Very true. Also keep in mind some of the cars were driven by professional test drivers, while others by magazine editors who: 1st, can NOT damage the car, 2nd they are not nearly as good as the PROs.

What these results show is basically which driver on a given day pushed the car harder then the other drivers, not which car is necessarily faster.

Where is the source? is there a site with this?

What the nurburg does is separate the real men from the boys. It's easy to hate on a yuppiescum mobile like a porsche, but those things are designed to go really fast for a really long time. Even tho something like a WRX STi vi or an Evo 6 can hang with a 911 to 60mph or even 100mph, they can't cut it on something like this. The only hyper JDM cars at the top of the list are Skylines and Supras, which are big bruisers just like a 911.

PS I think a Jag XJ220 did it in 7.39, there was a very long article about it in EVO. I'll check it tonight. For some reason the jag's lap is never included on these lists.

They wrote a very short article in Car & Driver about it a couple of months ago. I've not seen any pictures or video. I heard that he was going well over 200 mph on the straight.

I have tons of info on that X5 LeMans edition. It has a V12 engine in it and does like low 4sec 0-60 pulls with ease. The interior is full with bucket seats with silver backing like the new 911 turbo. I'll post some pictures of it later! Yeah the X5's handle extreamly good! Infact the X5 (current ones on the market) out handled the 5 series car and almost tied with the M5 in handeling. They predict when the new X5 comes out (4.6i) it will be able to take the M5 in handeling. You should see the looks of the passangers when I take then for a ride in our X5 over hwy17! hahahahaha

Where did you read information that suggests that the X5 is close to the M5 in terms of handling? I have read numerous X5 reviews and the general consensus is that it handles quite well for a 4800 lb SUV - nothing more. Car & Driver gives it a 0.79 g rating on the skid pad - which is in $10k economy car territory. Its slalom times on Edmunds.com are lower than a 2001 Civic EX!

I heard that you can do European delivery of Merc, BMW, Audi and go drive in N'Ring for about $30 or so. Anyhow, how come you can't do Japanese delivery on your new Stook or ITR? How would you like to take on a challenge of attacking all the race track in Japan in the comfy of your own car? Just a thought.

Euro delivery doesn't exist anymore except for Porsches, and even that isn't an advertised option.

actually it is an option because my friend just did it for his 3 series. Also Euro delivery can't happen with a X5 because they are made here in the US.
