Two quick ?'s: ABS and Top Speed
I was out really late the other night on a long, deserted country road, and wanted to see how high my ITR would go. I got it up to an indicated 130mph, but at that point (about 7K RPM in 5th) the engine pitch changed dramatically (sounded like it fell out of VTEC or something) and wouldn't accelerate any faster. Any chance I hit a speed limiter or something? I thought our cars weren't limited, but then again I have a '01 with that damn OBD 2 or whatever, so I don't know. Also, I heard with some older GSRs and NSXs, you could disable the ABS by lifting up the e-brake one or two clicks and driving for a minute or so. Doesn't work on my car, but is there any other way to disable it? Seems to always kick on way to early for me...
I think you hit the rev limiter (GSR?), not speed limiter. Or the air speed drag is too high for accelerating any further. You can disable ABS by pulling the ABS fuse....Is it a real ITR?

lol, I guess I should have been more specific about my car...sorry about that! It's a '01 PY ITR, #340. All I have is an AEM CAI and V-AFC. Being that it was an ITR and not a GSR, I was about 1500RPM away from the limiter, so I thought it was real strange, since I thought that the Rs did top out at redline in 5th. Maybe it just takes awhile to go from 130-145? I didn't wanna push it for too long, 'cause I had never gone that fast before, but the VTEC sound is very pronounced with the AEM, and I could definately hear the engine pitch change like it had switched back to the low cam. Maybe I'll give it another try...how long should it take to go from 130 to wherever top speed is? BTW, are there any reasons not to pull the ABS fuse (besides not having ABS
)? Is that what most people do to get around anti-lock?

1) why in the world would you want to disable your ABS?
OOps ..Seems to always kick on way to early for me... hardly ever kicks in early w/032R's
2) it might have dropped out of VTEC if you were down on oil and then started through an extended turn (did the check Engine Light come on)? Did that to me once @100-110 mph (though I broke my car hehe).
3) sometimes it takes a little longer to go up a hill (acceleration isn't as strong) in 5th @ 6-6.5K rpm.
