Default Type One Titanium exhaust

Took some pics of the Type One titanium exhaust at A&J today. This particular muffler is for EK hatch.

I like the Apexi N1 Titanium better
it has a better finish
but the Type One is probably cheaper

email ben@aj-racing.com for more info. i don't know exact pricing, but i think it's close to the spoon N1. it's gonna be available for DC2, DC5, and EK for sure. hey, if you're in vancouver, go down to the shop and check it out. the muffler is sooooo light

hey, those vids are great. i'll try to do that too!

Ummmm, that's how Titanium is supposed to be after! The purple ring on the tip is there for a reason. When you heat up Titanium at very high temperatures it gets like that.

I would rather get one of these over alot of SS exhausts. Looks don't matter, it's quality, sound and performance that counts!

I've never welded Ti but why would there be a blue ring at the tip from just cutting the material but there is no ring of blue around the weld areas which got a lot hotter? I don't remember the DC Ti Header/Exhaust with any blue rings. Or, do you think they just heated up the tip with a torch to get the color change?

apparently titanium is very very hard to weld, which is why the hangers are not welded onto the muffler can itself.

as for the bluish tip, this is currently the latest craze in Japan... almost all the titanium exhausts have this feature, i guess just to show off the fact that it's titanium.

here's a pic of an Amuse Titan R1 on a S2000

as you can see, the muffler/tip is polished, which makes everything, including the bluish tip look even better. of course a polished look is gonna add lots of money to the price... for a titanium exhaust, the type one is quite affordable compared to an Amuse!

You can create that bluish color also by heating up a stainless steel tip, right???

I like the idea behind a Ti exhaust, but that tip is just ridiculous. It looks like something you'd put on your car after you've done the 1 windshield wiper conversion, racing stripes (crooked), Supra wing, and painted your air vent bezels yellow.

I don't believe that is correct. The Z06 exhaust is titanium and doesn't have blue tips.

single wipers are rarely seen now days. they still consider rice? btw they do the tips like that on purpose as you can't get the stainless to discolor to that kinda of purple color but not all exhaust makers make their ti tip like that.

Ungly muffler. And please, all people know this is a cheap taiwanese muffler. Type One is a car shop in Japan, and not making of this cheap muffler. Why don't just call it AJR muffler? I saw this muffler in Taiwan few months ago, it is so bad. The real Japanese titan muffler totally doesn't look like this ****. I feel very sorry of the people who bought this muffler.

I think it looks like a no joke muffler, it is for one purpose more HP and less weight, not all about looks just how it performs. If it were a proven muffler i say pretty cool. blue lip and all.
