has anyone put a trunk light in their EG hatch? i found a thread about putting it in an EK but found nothing on EG's. thanks

 

do you mean the OEm light that is just a block-off panel in the lower trim levels?if so,i think all you should need to get is the light assembly itself.a couple weeks ago i had the left side quarter cover off my DX hatch,and it appears that the wiring is there for it already,you just need to to get the light and plug it in.

the light is assmebly #1 in the pic,not very expensive from the dealer either:

you can also get Haynes brand manuals from any auto parts store for about $10-$15.not nearly as good as a Helm,but MUCH better than nothing.
there are also various sites to DL manuals for free,and you may be able to get them off Ebay also.

I was just thinking about the trunk light in my hatch yesterday as I was fawking my gf back there...What a weird coincedence.

So it is possible to have a trunk light back there. I didn't even notice it before until we did it back there...CoOl sauce!

i actually just did this yesterday.....got a light and harness from the back of a crx at the local junkyard.
( dont quote me but i dont think any 92-95 civic hatches were pre wired for this except the higher class models....mine cx wasnt. )

so i just ran some speaker wire and tapped into my dome light wire up at the driver pillar..it works great

 

I used the trunk light off of my 89 CRX too(fit perfect) havent wired it up yet... might do that today

 

dont bother hooking up the light. it didnt really help me see **** on my old 92 si. IMO not worth getting.

 

its not prewired for the cx.. and Mrfeee1 let me know if you want a helms manual for free.

yeah it really doesnt help a whole lot.... but its better than nothing imo

 

i did this long time ago. i used a turnk light from an 89 accord and it fit perfectly. nice little free mod...

 

i'm gonna go check if my hatch is prewired...92civeg: can you take pics of what you did? thanks
