custom motor mounts, custom header, custom wiring harness (probably close to $2,000) not including labor (my guess)....here you must've missed this post in the hybrid forum (read all 7 pages pls) https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

Unless you have the turbo parts already you need a custom header just to get the thing to run. You cant use the stock header from a K20 or one for a Bseries or anything else.

You would need a header because the stock manifold will not clear your factory subframe.

My company hybrid racing sells them if you are interested please feel free to email me at will@hybrid-racing.com

Hi, im actually currently swaping a K20A into a 02 civic ex. I had to get alot of extra parts like radiator, mounts, fan, and you have redo the key for the k-series. I purchased the front clip so i didnt have to worry about axiles and crossmembers. You might have to spend some money geting alot of extra parts to complete the K-series swap.

bolt up with no problems? man, if you need to ask that question you shouldn't even undertake this project. seems like hasport and hybrid racing are going to make it easier with the mounts and the harness but it's still gonna be more difficult than a B swap. you have to cut out a hole to mount the shifter. you gotta do something about the fuel system because one is returnless. the radiator has to be figured out because the k series has outlets on the opposite side. like i said if you need to ask then it's probably too much. read up on the post in my sig.

Apparently the kits being made will not require any welding [or very minimal?] and the wiring and custom headers will be sold with the mount kits.. please correct me if I'm wrong.

My lightly modded EP3 walked a GSR last week... by a car ... for maybe an 1/8 mile ....

Take that 10K, save it, sell your car and buy an ep3.

that says nothing. guy could have been a shitty driver, the engine might not have been well cared for or at peak performance. I wouldn't sell an EK just for that. I say go with the EK/gsr combo.

how much less does a ek weigh compared to a ep3....was the guy originally talkin' 'bout swappin' in a 6spd a2 NOT an a3....

EDIT $10,000 is a 'lil steep estimate for a a2....but close for a jdm k20a swap in complete w/labor
$4,500 motor & tranny, est. $2,250 for mounts & harness & header, $??? for reflash of ECU (jdm R), est $1,500+ for labor unless you can get a deal at a shop, $750 for radiator & catalytic converter & other misc stuff = approximately $10,000

i think the EK interior is pretty nice, especially the 99+. you tellin me ep3's don't have plastic interiors? besides, it's a civic. who buys them for the interior?

i don't know where the hell you guys are getting your prices. I'd still do the B swap but K swaps are not that much. You can get a JDM DC5-R swap for about $4500. a k20a2 for less than $4000. It's the rest of the stuff that's gonna cost ya like mounts, radiator, wiring harness, etc.

i bought my ep3 for the interior, I didnt like the exterior that much, the suspension compared to my previous civic sucked... BUT the interior was gorgeus, the seats perfect, A/C, power everything, sunroof, rally shifter.... ALL thse things sold me. The suspension and exterior could be "fixed".

Also the swap price into an EK is still very high.... if you think its so easy, show me the wiring harness and immobilizer info on the web?

not as expensive as you may think. it's comparable to a B series, I just don't wanna be a guinea pig.

Check my sig. All the info is there. Hasport made the wiring harness and hondata has taken care of the immobilizer.

The EP3 weighs close to 2800 lbs just forget about that....find a cheap EK hatch shell and someone competent enough to complete the swap and you will be hauling ***...even with your coupe you will still weigh less in the end

In the short run, yes the gsr will be cheaper. You realize the aem cai and many other intakes made over 5-6whp on a stock motor? You realize k series gains incredible amounts of power from bolt ons compared to the b series? I plan on getting a civic coupe and getting a k24 bottom / k20a2 head and going frmo there, but that won't be for at least a year so harnesses and everything will be worked out; along with the motor prices going down. And as for the dude who said JDM DC5-R motor is 4500, WHERE I'd like to know right now.
