Look what i traded my hatch for!!!
I highly recomend owning a porsche at sometime in your life, i love this car!
its a 1988 Porsche 944 it has a2.5liter 4cyl with about 166hp and 170 torque and its only 2600lbs. its not as fast am my hatch but then again that thing ran high thirteens and had every bolt on you can buy and then some. i plan to build the motor and drop a turbo in it once i get some cash.
what do you guys think?

Sure that only weights 2600? My landlord has one thats a beater and its starter was shot so I helped him jumpstart it with a push. 2 people couldn't get the damn thing up to any speed.... i used my car to do it

One of my buddies just did the same thing. his bro wrecked his turbo lude, and he bought a turbo 944. He's got real high hopes for it tho, I think he's gonna be a little disappointed when it comes time autocross

very nice!! i have some buddies at work that are really into 944's they keep trying to get me to buy one and send me links on good pricess on them. U know they arent bad in price..just spendy on parts!! hey my buddy has 3 glass tops for them they are EXTREMELY rare..if you are looking for one PM me he wants to sell one of them!

My friend and his brother, each had 1 of those. My friend sold it for a Jetta, and his brother sold his for a 99 hatch. Both said it was way too costly to maintain. And if something broke...it was hundreds of dollars just to fix it. Another guy I know had a turbo one...he sold it for a 98' Turbo S. Said it just wasn't powerful enough.
Supposedly...with the turbo version...you can run a 13.4 with professional driver. I've watched my friend's friend race his...not the easiest thing in the world to do. I watched as he got smoked by a GSR w/ I/H/E.
Have fun...thats really all the matters. Hope yours brings you better luck then the people I know that had them.

buddy of mine has had about 6 of them so far, i think he is working on the seventh. Fast *** little things too, but then again he builds them and is a mechanic for them so i guess he gots the hook ups on parts. but anyway congrats and enjoy your new ride

that is hella sick. my friend had one of those, he let me drive it a few times. its a very sporty car. might not be the fastest thing on the street, but damn it was a butt load of fun. handled really great. the wipers also liked to turn on when he used the turn signals, that was hilarious. sweeet car!

Is that a turbo?? (dont know much about 944s).
If it is, that could be faster than a hatch... plus rear drive means you can drift.
Porsches are nice vehicles. They primary purpose is to be the best driving vehicle for its time. (forget luggage, and praticality) Unlike the civic which is an economy car by design.
