Is your stock size 185/60 14? if so, and the 195/45 will be alot smaller, go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html it's a tire size calculator, it's really useful

I worked at a tire shop many a years ago, when sold those exact tires, Good overall tires, but from what I a can tell you may have sealing problems around the bead, but I know for a fact guys on here are running 195 azenis on there 14 incheer's and are having no problems.

cool thanxs so the 195/45/14 will be way to small acorrding to that site ill prolly just go with 195/55/14 ... these should be alittle bigger width than the stock 185/ right?

I'm running 195-60-14 Azenis on a 14x6 right now. No problems.
I was running 195-60-14 Azenis on a stock CRX rim(14x5.5). No problems.
I have also run 195-55-14 Bridgestone RE-71s on a 14x5.5. No problems.

I believe the HX rim is a 14x6. Tirerack says the 195 width is good for a 5.5-7" range.

The 195 in 195-55-14 is millimeter width. See:
