Default Was offered a CRV block and head...should I take it?

I was talking with the guys at work(Honda dealership) and they have a block and head out of a CRV and are willing to give it up. Ive heard of replacing the D-series head with the CRV's or the CRV head and a Type-R block. I havent heard of such a thing before so I come to you all for help. Is it worth trying something new instead of the out B series of H series motor? What are my options and what would I need to make it work?

You can put the B20 out of that CRV into your car, but you will need a new transmission and all of the other essential B swap parts (axles, ecu, etc). That B20 will be faster than your D series you have now, but you cannot put a B series head on a D series block.

you can always get that block and put in all ITR stuff, that would be SWEET.

my of the guys was telling me thou that you can take a type-r block, CRV head, and CRV internals for a higher compression motor? are the B20s a VTEC motor? I know they are DOHC but havent seen anything about VTEC. Not that it matters but I really wanna do some kind of swap but make it different then you normally see. Everyone around here is either a b16 or b18. why not a hybrid b20/18?

No, you'd take the b20 block (non vtec) and put the ITR head on it (vtec) for a b20vtec.

You do the B20 block with the ITR head as stated above. Plenty of people on here have b20/vtec swaps, otherwise known as a CRVTEC. They can be strong motors if you do it correctly. And that b20 does not have vtec as it stands.

for the CR-VTEC, what pistons are you using? CRV or Type-R? I might grab that block tomorrow and start my list.
