Default Best single cam non vtec head?

Just looking for some ideas of what you guys think is the best non vtec head? Im debating between the a6, y7 and b7. I can use the B7 off of my car now for my d16z6 bottom end but I was wondering what timing belt I'd use. Thanks for your help,
Matt

if im not mistaken the a6, b2, and b7 are the same casting...just different cams and valvetrain. i know the a6 and b2 are the same and i think the b7 is too. the y7 has a smaller combustion chamber...same size as z6 (so i would assume they are similar castings...but again i am just guessing on that) and also 1mm bigger valves. not that that will help much on the 75mm bore size.

ive always read as a general rule of thumb to use the timing belt for the head your gonna use. ie...a6 block z6 head = z6 timing belt. but ive never tried it so better get more feedback first.

as for which ones the best???

Thanks for the reply, its a 78mm bore if that makes any differance.

i always thought the y7 head was still vtec, just vtec-e, while the y8 was reg. vtec. ive seen some mad power numbers come from an a6 head, but i dont know.

Y7 is definately not a Vtec head or a Vtec-E head

A6 and B7 are both the same casting...

use the B7 with the Z6 bottom, but make sure you use the B7 belt

if you want best stock setup go with the A6 head but if you are rebuilding it then it doesnt matter B7 and A6 are identical with the new generations have the Z6 casting but without Vtec and a smaller combustion chamber depends on whether you want more compression or not.
