WRIST BANDS ON BRAKE AND CLUTCH RES.
MAYBE I AM NOT UP TO SPEED ON THINGS,BUT WHY DO PEOPLE PUT THEM SPOON AND MUGEN WRIST BAND ON THE BRAKE AND CLUTCH RES. TOPS.I THINK IT GIVES THE ENGINE BAY A LITTLE SOMETHING,BUT IS THERE A PURPOSE TO IT.
to prevent leaking, or the resivour's from getting all nuts all over the engine bay incase something bad happens, like brake fluid boiling over or so... at least I would faithfully assume.
keeps the caps on snug and absorbs any liquids getting all over the engine bay.

i was told that they used them in racing. when the brake fluid would over flow from pounding on the brakes hard.to keep the engine bay clean and from the overflow collecting dirt. which we all know that dirt in the brake system will mess up the brake system.

They're actually resovoir covers, not wrist bands. For a race car, they keep the liquids off the track, for a street car, they're for looks.

what he said. On the track if something leaks or bursts then it absorbs it to prevent as much liquid as possibly from gettin on the track. And i believe theyre made from some type of flame retardant material so they dont ignite if they do get soaked. Thats just what i've read though so im not 100%, but it makes sense?

Yeah 12 bucks is a raping
. The real reason people use em...They are JDM of course, the only way those help you is if you take your car to the track every weekend.

The real reason for them is this..............
Brake fluid wich is in both the hydraulic systems is a very dry fluid and it wics moisture into it. If you were to leave on of those pint size bottles open over night it would be ruined.Tthe fluid takes on moisture so it can lead to rust and deterioration. Check your own fluid and see) When you open your hood and see the dirt and crud near the lids of your master cylinders its not the fluid leaking out, its the moisture being drawn in by the hydroscopic fluid(brake fluid). The resv covers keep the fluid cleaner longer. Especially on track cars where the fluid is constantly under different high pressures.
I hope this clears some stuff up.

^^^ This is correct.
However on a street car it's not that big of a deal. It is true that most people do it just because it's "JDM"
or because they want something that says Spoon or Mugen on it.
I put a Nintendo and Super Mario 1-UP mushroom on my reservoirs, just to be funny. They have no real purpose, except maybe a conversation piece.
