Hybrid Smog Testing
I have a '99 EK with a B16A swap. I am due for emissions testing and am preparing the car. My car is an OBD2 year vehicle, but has OBD1 equipment. I recently purchased a '99 Si ECU and have three error codes. If I am able to eliminate these codes, will the emissions people be able to link into the car with their equipment? Please advise.

In terms of how the car looks? I think that the main problem lies in connecting their computer to the outlet under the steering wheel and receiving no reading. Is it likely that they will pass me as long as I have the proper equipment to keep the car from being a poluter? There are Vettes and Vipers putting out more smoke than my VTEC.
Since you converted from OBDII to OBDI, their OBD reader wont be able to hook up.
They will then do the alternate testing where they stick a proble in the motor that determines engine rpm and a tail pipe sniffer. As long as you are within range, you are good.
