99 hatch with itr emissions question *HELP*
I need some info. looking to get a 99 hatch with itr motor in it but it has been converted from obd2 to obd1 with a p28 chipped ecu for a gsr. How will i go about getting the car to pass emissions? I asked the seller and he said it has a rejection sticker on it due to it being too rich, he has adjusted the fuel pressure lower... but im unsure if it will pass emissions. What problems can i run into since this has been converted from a obd2 to obd1.
Thanks
John

That isn't an issue. Hook up with someone that dynotunes the vehicle to pass the emissions testing, will overlook the visual and will issue you an electronic certificate and not a paper one. Hope this helps.

IF you are in CA it wil not pass no matter what... IF you have to pass the smog II... The smog II machines have to be able to read your OBDII ecu through the serial port... If you are running OBDI the serial port will be non functional.... If the motor is 00-01 you should just use the stock ECU and run OBDIIB.... Your car is OBDIIB already and so is the itr motor if it is one of the two years listed.... Once converted to OBDIIB you should have it reffed....
