Default Increasing HP with less than $500 bucks?

I've been doing alot of research on integ mods but have found them way too expensive? Im a college student on a tight budget....got any ideas?

The best ideas i've got are

Intake
Exhaust
Throw out spare tire

NAWZ baby 2 big bottles...

but seriously N2O is the best bang for the buck and cheapest way to make a noticeable increase in HP

you gotta make sure the engine can handle it and have the install done right

take the intake manifold out split the manifold apart where that mid-plate is at take out the four little plates and while ur at it clean the manifold and ur throttle body. put it back on- i recemend putting the hondata intake manifold gasket you can get it from modacar.com i thing you have to call to order it. i did it on my hatch in an afternoon. crossover was louder and i could feel a difference. never got to dyno the change in hp but i would guess 8-12.

ill be doing it to my teg soon

and another thing.. you cant tell anything is done.. low pro

The what plates? LOL

I think you have that mixed up w/ VENTULI which is a gasket made by spoon for the intake manifold. Normally seen as the "Ventuli effect" it deals w/ how air flows.

They are called secondaries, its like 4 small throttle plates.

You can also just pulled the vaccum line and they'll stay open.

btw... there is not much power increase(if any) in doing this, you'll lose bottom end.

I would go w/ a nice header w/ a 2.5" collector, 2.5" b-pipe and a 2.5" es oval.

DC JDM 4-1, Muffler shop mandrel bent b-pipe, es oval = under 500.

Cold air duct to the bottom of a stock intake box = 10 bux.

You might even be able to throw in some camgears and get some camgear tuning.

Removing Power Steering belt
Removing A/C belt
Removing Interior
Removing Rear Bumper Reinforcement Bar

Keeping the secondaries open gives you no gain and you loose bottom torque.

If you only have $500 to spend I would just save it. $500 wont get you far, or much of anything Your only option would be a used Nos kit $300-350, and maybe I/H/E but there another $800-1000 depending on what brands you buy, you could buy used stuff and save $, but those bottle refills will get very expensive especially on a college budget.

invest it in driving school, learning how to drive your car is the best modification you can do.

$500 bucks definitely Intake & header get a 4-2-1 I drove around for about 8 months on an Intake & Header and spanked 75% of the people i raced. Now for other little things to add like dryer piping for little cold air to the intake, thats if u get a short ram cause it will be cheaper then cold air and less chance of hydrolock. Another little mod that is good of course would be a B&M FPR (fuel pressure regulator) last but not least take a little arm using advance ur timing. I did these few little mods and every GSR i have raced with same mods i'd walk cause of FPR & advance my timing.

Go ahead and remove those plates....you'll lose a LOT of low-end torque. We dynoed my car with the IAB pinned open (essentially the same as removing the plates) and I lost about 15ft-lbs of torque until about 6000rpm!

So sure, go ahead and disable the dual-stage manifold...

Falken Azenis and the BSQ rear swaybar kit.

You'll actually be able to FEEL a difference in your car with these two mods -- as opposed to getting some mild (and expensive) bolt-ons that don't do much.
