Just wanted to say it was fun!
I just traded my CRX today for a 1990 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD Turbo. It was funny hanging out in this forum. I wont be around much now cause I'm moving to a DSM forum but I will be around to help people out on there hondas!

Hahahaha
How much for the talon BTW ? I always liked them, but they never seemed to be engineered or built as well as hondas.
Good luck with it, though. I hear you'll need it. GRM just did an article about them a couple of months ago.

I had a DSM but no 4g63 it was a 420a Neon engine that thing is a peace of you now what stock. I guess he did do a good decision on getting a 1st gen talon/eclipse which arent known for crankwalk but I think the problem is overblown. But good luck
I might join you but I am keeping my Honda I have a thurst for a 97-99 GSX
and had it for a while.

I didnt have to pay anything. It was a straight trade. The body is a bit rough but the interior is mint! Just wanted to try something new. I still miss my CRX, a little.
When will that be? Engine already had a rebuild. Everything including the tranny and clutch. Only 5,000 miles on it since the rebuild.

A guy I went to HS with has a Talon for 3 years. He went through 3 trannys and 5 tranny rebuilds on those trannys. Just something to keep in mind. I have seen it off an on over the short time I have been here on HT. People saying that they are tired of their EFs and wanting something else. DSMs, F Bodies, AE86, hell even an S2000. They all come back. You will be seen again.

go for the 93-94 tranny :thumbs up: they changed the trannies in those with stronger synchros then the 90-91s (and maybe 92s) i have had around 7 DSMs, one had 550whp (this is back in 98-99) and another had 400 with the 100 shot i was runnin (also in 99). cars were fast as ****, when i built my 550whp one that thing scared the **** out of me, i would hit the throttle and the car would jump sideways smokin all four tires. I really miss all wheel drive, i want another talon and dump the honda but cant afford the whole insurance thing. Oh well maybe someday i will get another one (next year hehe)
those things rip!! crank up the boost and have fun. Is it a 4-bolt block BTW?? I knew some guys up north who just had like a boost controller and some bolt-ons that were DEEP into the 12's with those, stock block, like 18-20lbs. Good find, although i'm sure you'll miss your crx. Hey you can always find one for a beater right? Good luck, dont be a stranger.
A friend of mine had some chick plow into his CRX, so he took the money from the accident and bought a '90 Talon AWD turbo. After a few mods here and there, he's pushing 300hp.
<---wishing his little 1.6L made 300hp

Definatly not an overbllown problem. The 6-bolt blocks are safe, the 7-bolt are the ones with the problem. I'm helping rebuild a 6-bolt right now. It is to go in my bro's (march) 92 talon. March of 92 means his car came w/ ABS, 4-bolt LSD, and the 6-bolt motor, only came with that for one month of production, then they switched to 3-bolt, and before that either LSD or ABS wasn't available.
So far here's his plan:
Stock internals, 2.5" DP w/ open dump WG, 3" DP back (no cat), ported head/manifolds, big 16G, MBC, MAP sensor conversion, 2.25" charge piping/3" inlet pipe, 255lph fuel pump, big injectors, stock tranny until it frys w/ an ACT2600.
Should be hella fast on 25psi er so, but his DSMs have spent more time in the garage than on the road.

If the drive train goes out, Team RIP will make it awesome. Since your in New York, your not too far from Pruven which has an AWD dyno. Just don't turn the boost up too much without fuel mods, or you will be like me and have no compression in three cylinders.
