>>>D16Z6 swap need MAJOR HELP! CALLING ALL EXPERTS!<<<
I've been reading and reading and reading almost all the topics using of course https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch about the d16z6 swap into my 88 D15B1 Civic Hatch. I'm trying to gather all the information and hoping that somebody can acknowledge or correct my list of things to do....
1. D16Z6 Engine
2. Can I reuse the S20 Transmission?
3. D15B1 Driver side Motor mount
4. DPFI to MPFI conversion
5. P28 ECU
6. OBD-0 to OBD-1 Jumpers (Contact blownn90hatch)
7. Install and I'm Done!
Transmission is my biggest concern. The MPFI conversion seems abit tricky. Any HELP is greatly welcomed.

if blown hatch is building you the jumper harness then it will be damn easy its just an addition of the 2 wires in the harness..
also you are going to need that d16z6 engine harness as well..
and yeah you can just go ahead and use your stock tranny, but while everything is out you might as well pickup an Si one, or lower mileage one if thats an issue.

awww crap the motor is everything minus the harness and ecu....but isn't doing the MPFI conversion basically creating that harness? If i use the P28 then i don't think I need the resistor box, clips and obd-o injectors

You don't need the Z6 harness, but you need the z6 distributor. You will need a 4 wire O2 also. Keep the injector box, and use the CRX injectors.
And your old transmission should still work

yeah, you don't need a resistor box, since you are using the p28, just use the odb1 injectors that should come with the motor, I would look into getting an 89-91 si tranny for the added surface face, don't use the dx or std tranny it will suck. I did the same swap in my 91 civic dx, but I used a d15b vtec for the lower mileage, and a p08 ecu, so I could reuse my 1-wire o2 sensor. No need to get the z6 harness.
so if i do the mpfi conversion on the d15b1 engine harness then i can use the obd1 distributor and injectors. use the p28 with the obd-0 to obd-1 jumper harness and reuse the original engine harness. to plug in the motor.....i think i'm starting to get it....but i do need the Z6 plugs for the engine harness inorder to plug the motor in...no? with the s20 transmission i'm going to see if hasport can help me out...since sourcing out the 88-91 Si tranny is unavailable at the moment. thanks alot fellas...so here's the recap
1. D16Z6 Engine
2. S20 with hydro conversion.....if it's even possible and/or 88-91 Si transmission if I can source one out.
3. Reuse the D16Z6 distributor and injectors
4. Reuse the orignal D15 motor engine harness and convert DPFI to MPFI
5. P28 ECU
6. OBD-0 to OBD-1 Jumpers (Contact blownn90hatch)
7. 4 Wire 02 Sensor
8. Remove Resistor Box
9. D15B1 Driver side Motor mount
10. Install and I'm Done!
Since I'm converting to OBD1 the only major change is the orignal D15 engine harness to MPFI and I reuse all the D16Z6 OBD1 components.....

also keep in mind the short gears of the zc tranny...Si cable might be more your thing...
and in my opinion being that you already have the motor with injectors just score a d16z6 harness that way you can use the stock injectors and not even worry about the resistor box., i just think its easier

thanks! that's what i was thinking....just plug everything the way the zc is and you'll have less headaches.....so does anybody have the Z6 harness?
you don't need a z6 harness, once you do the dpfi to mpfi conversion, you will have the wires set up for four injectors, then all you have to do is plug in the injectors into your existing harness, you already don't have a resistor box, so, that should even come up, my motor came with all the sensors already attached as well as the injectors and plugs for the injectors, so all was needed was to splice in the injectors into your existing mpfi harness. also with the zc tranny, yes it will bolt up but you will need 90-93 integra axles for it to work.

Your answers:
1. Okie Dokie
2. If you want to convert to hydro....but I would just find a cable Si trans.
3. I honestly don't remember
4. I can convert your current engine harness to MPFI
5. I have stock P28 ecus as well for the package.
6. Yep...got these harnesses too
7. 4 wire O2 sensor, Use the Z6 distributor. The OBD1 injectors are optional, but since you are getting them with the motor(If you are) then we will not need the resistor box. I can do your injector clips if you send the harness for the MPFI.
Let me know if I can help anymore.

man, I didn't know that you did dpfi->mpfi, if that was the cause I would of sent you mine, I used my stock d15b2 driver side mount and tranny mount well, all the mounts for my d15b vtec swap, just used energy suspension motor mount inserts for the front and rear.

I try not too because of my busy schedule...but when things slow down I sometimes offer this service. I apologize for not being able to do your MPFI conversion

yeah, i get the whole picture now....but i've decided to go with the a6 instead.....just way too much hassle and way too much money to put in the obd1. i don't have the cash for it....so i'll just go with the zc/d16a6 with the pr5 obd-0
