Default Sqeeling and dimming of lights???

when i start my crx the revs go up (like most hondas) and then drop, but when they first start to drop, there is a shrill squeeling sound from the engine bay and all of the lights in the car start to dim, and when the squeeling stops, they go back to normal. I suspect it is a loose pulley or belt, maybe somthing with the alternator?? any advice on how to deal with this would be great.

Sounds like your alternator belt is loose.
