bottoming out and what not ..
i have a 96 4 dr and its dropped with sportlines, and lemme tell you it is hellla low .. i didnt have many probs till i pulled out of a parking lot and it sounded like i scrapped off most of the front end. so now that annoying peice of plastic beneath the engine is hanging down like a bitch, has anyone zip tied it or got rid of it ?
how can i protect my car from (major) future damage ?
thx
it's not hella low, that's what I am telling you.
you could replace it with a new one at honda about 50 bucks i say, that thing protect the underbody from mud, rock, ice but nothing big like a speed bump

I have a 90 4dr with sportlines and I don't scrape that bad....you just have to get used to driving with a drop. Speed bumps for example, you can't take them straight on otherwise you will scrape, you have to go at it at an angle, and this goes for any bumps or steep inclines/declines. And my car isn't very low its 1.8" in front and 1.7" in back, I manage, I used to have sprints 2.2" in front and 2.0" in back, it was crazy low.
alright lets see where do we start.....i think the piece you are referring to is the plastic splash guard under the engine. I had one side of mine come down during a bad winter, and i just got under there and screwed it back up. easy fix.
i have a 94 accord on sportlines, and only scrape if im careless. pull your mudflaps, cause those will get hit every now and then.
what else is rubbing that you can tell?

yeah i pulled the mud flaps off, but i think imma just go under and try to screw the flap back in, it wasnt scraping on speedbumps before .. but now it scrapes undearneath. is there anything else i could damage bottoming out like crazy ?

Well your oil pan is there and your cross member is there.....I would say leave the plastic piece in, it protects, if you can just bolt/screw whatever it back in.

not sure of most of your conditions there, but in the city by me there are some bad ones. i went through an alley once and the center of teh road bowed up from excessive traffic or whatever. minorly scraped my headers at the bend into the cat. nothing major, but get used to a different style of driving sort of. you will soon learn all the best lanes to drive in and what roads not to take and so on....
