Alright, I've been on this site for a while and I have seen people call CRX's EF's and EG's. I just want to know which one is it. I'm thinkin it's an EG can someone verify this for me.

 

eg = 92-95
ef = 88-91

crx = ef
del sol = eg

ef,eg,ek = japanese chassis codes

 

alright, well my vin is as follows JHMED******** so how com its not (JHM)japan honda motors (ED) wouldnt that be the chassis code does all the civics have this (ED) or just the CRX?

 

I believe us crx is ED9, and us hatches are ED7. I could be very wrong, but someone will know.

Not sure of Civic US/ JDM chassis codes or JDM CRX codes.
But here are the 88-91 CRX US and Europe chassis codes
ED7=EDM Si
ED8=USDM HF/ DX
ED9=USDM Si
EE8=EDM VTEC

EF7=JDM Si
EF6=JDM 1.5x
ED8=USDM HF/ DX
EE8=EDM VT
EF8=JDM SiR

 

Isn't it great how we all call the cars EF's? My beater 89 std. hatch is an ED6 and the crx is an ED9.
