I'm fairly disapointed in carbon fiber hoods these days... You can never get a good one... and I just don't trust them anymore.... But I still like the look of the off color hood.....

So what would you guys think about a EBP EM1 with a black hood? OEM painted black? I'm not sure if anyone has done this, and I have searched but haven't found anything....... Pictures would help me out....

I've seen it done. And I have heard what people say after seeing it... and its all negative.

 

I bet the first words are, is that a carbon fi......nope. I would either get a real CF or get a hood and keep it painted. With wheels you can kinda fake the funk (with knock offs) but with hoods its a lot different. Just my 2 pennies.

i like the look of cf hoods, it looks much different from black painted hoods. If you're looking into buying one, i'd say fiber images. I bought mine 2 years ago and it still looks great. The weave is flawless (no ripples) like other cf hoods.

 

People will think you couldn't afford a carbon fiber hood, or couldn't afford to have your hood painted to match. Don't do it!

 

paint the cf hood black if you want a black looking hood without the creases (sp?) in the carbon fiber weave. Then when people call you a poor X (where X is the variable for different insulting names), allow them to pop your hood and feel how light it is, thus shutting them up.

The reason why you never seen it is because nobody's that stupid to put on an unpainted hood unless they really have to because of a maybe recent accident.

But actually I've seen it before around my area and it doesn't look good at all. But I think the reason why they probably do that is because either they are too cheap or they don't know that other cars have unpainted hood is because its carbon fiber and they just don't know what that is.

If you want good carbon fiber hoods you should either get Fiber Images or VIS.

 

please dont do it unless its just a temp until you can get it painted. ive seen the whole black hood thing and it didnt work imo.
