What ecu are you running? And what, if anything has been done to the ecu?

Sounds alot like the stock LS rev limiter.

Ditto, what's with the ecu? Might check your oil too, your oil would keep you out of VTEC and cause an early fuel cut.

the ecu is throwing the rev limiter for a reason, the smoke is normal thats fuel cut. as for the reason... almost sounds like cold rev limiter, coolant sensor problem, is it hitting vtec at all?

theres 2 coolant sensors, one is for the stock temp gauge in the car and the other goes to the ecu. if one of the sensors is bad it might hit cold rev limiter. what does your temp gauge say after it runs for awhile. does the car hit vtec? what temp thermostat is in it? there is a lot of things that could make the ecu hit cold rev limiter. check every sensor in the engine bay to make sure they are getting a good connection.

okay bro

i am going to check that

and i am using the Mugen fan switch, themorstat, fluidyne EG radiator...

and after a bit it stays at dead cold
goes up after a long while

i tried running new wires from the temp sensor on the head and still does the same

how can i check them?????

Sorry to put you down but there is only one ECT sensor on are cars. The sensor is connected to the ecu which reads the voltage of the sensor then sends the signal to your temp gauge.

If you dont think your hitting vtec, your not, you should be able to feel it. if your oil temp and car is not warm enough vtec will not engage. If you have a check engine light you are in limp mode and thats the reason for no vtec and 6500 rev limiter. So you have no vtec and thats the reason you cant rev it up so high. with this problem at hand i wouldn't rev it up past 5000 rpm's for the sake of the cams.
hope this helps.

thats funny, i'd like to argue your comment 88whitehf but the truth is i'm just way to tired and there really is no point. although it is kinda funny how you hope you help but you didn't give any helpful suggestions on how to fix it, you told him to not rev his car past 5000 because he's gonna damage the cams... now that is funny.
