Default Just visited my baby in the shop.

I dropped off my car at the body shop on monday to repair emblem theft damage. Today, Tuesday i went to check up on my car and see how it was doing. Well... it wasnt pretty... the the front bumper was off my spoiler was gone and the emblem area on the hatch was sanded. On top of that, my alarm was going just as I stepped into the garage(fools, didnt know how to disarm it). As far as the sanding and bumper goes, I understand these are necessary steps. But why did they take off my spoiler? I really dont get this. I tried to ask the people around and the guy who was working on my car, but none of them spoke english and they all seemed pretty mean(seriously, they gave me dirty looks and ****). I left that place feeling very uneasy since the staff didnt seem professional and my car looked so incomplete. Can someone explain the spoiler removal though?

They are pobably going to respray the entire hatch, so they removed the wing to do so. Most body shops would do this and I would worry about a shop that does not. The reason for spraying the entire hatch instead of just the spot, is so there is no blending the paint in and you dont see any tape off lines since there are none. Well the are probably going to take off the hatch window, too much trouble to remove that to paint.

True that AP said. When you fill the holes or re-paint. you have to re-paing the WHOLE panel/hatch/door, etc. That's the only way to get it done right. The only thing is hopefully new paint job will blend in with your bumper, rear quater panel, etc. Where did you get the referal? If's it's Acura/Honda, then shouldn't be too much problem... if not, uh oh!

I need to make sure those guys didnt sheist me when i get my car back.

I think there are some codes at the base of the spoiler. I'll go check when I get home. (I'm in stealth mode... haha. )

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about, and even if you have any complaints w/ the repair or anything AAA will stand behind it and make sure all is right.
