Heel/ Toe shifting question...
Just out of curiousity, do any of you guys do heel/toe shifting while daily driving? It sounds stupid, but I was just curious.
Flame if you want...

Thanks...it was just something that came up while I was watching a drift video. Now I dont feel like a 'tard for asking it.
Thanks

But to do the "heel toe" you would have to be flying around corners and taking curves real fast, in order to keep up a continues speed which would be pretty hard to pull off on many public roads.
Rev matching is what I do most when downshifting or preparing to pass another car.
But "heel toe", that would best be used in the autocross world, in my opinion.

The sequence for a proper heel-toe downshift is as follows:
Apply the brake with the ball of your right foot.
Depress the clutch pedal with your left foot.
Place your hand on the gear lever.
Rotate your right foot counter-clockwise by pushing your heel away from you, then "blip" the throttle with the right edge of your right foot by rolling your foot down and to the right, while still applying even pressure to the brake pedal.
At the same as the throttle blip, move the gear selector into the lower gear.
Release the clutch pedal quickly.
and yes, i do it while i drive around town. it does become natural.

i never tried yet...
however i seemed to master matching revs. i dont see a use to heel toeing a corner if you arent racing. i just downshift, let the motor decrease my speed, then brake if i have to.

Heel-toe is useful for double clutch downshifting, which decreases wear on the synchronizers. That's the reason I do it.
No need to be "racing" - and nobody should be doing such jackassery on the street anyway.

Actually you don't have to fly around corners to heel toe. I do it every time I drive my Rex and I don't fly around corners (all the time) I think it is better for track racing, it actually gives you an advantage there. As far as auto crossing goes I never down shift enough to get any real advantage. With the S1 tranny it goes like this "first gear-second gear.................................finish"
