whats wrong with my piston
i have a 90 ex accord and it keeps braking the intake valve of #1 piston. what i need to know is why does it do that. is it something wrong with that piston or with the piston wring of #1 piston. i need to know whether i have to put new piston wrings or just change the engine. and is it hard to change an engine. i have experience on changing the head of the engine lol. please help me i am runing with a 3 cilinder accord now. ****. if it helps before the problem when i started the car in the morning it was gooing to smoke a lot for 1 min or so and after that no smoke . help i need to fix this mf . its a war between me and the car now. lol
Your timing could be super fucked up.. It could also be the valve spring in there.. it can also be the cam lobing.. ****.. it could be alot of things..
please hit the spell check button. it's a piston ring, not I'm going to wring your neck
anyway.....
let me get this straight, only the #1 cyl has a broken intake valve. if thats the case, check for a broken valve spring, or retainer. just pull the valve cover off and look at it.
if your timing was off you'd most likely have damaged more than one valve.
If you have been running it with the valve making contact with the piston, you may have damaged the piston top as well.

but the thing is it happen to me twice. and i change the head of the engine. but with the second head engine it sill broke the same valve in the same piston. so i used two different head engines and both got their exaust valve broken in the same #1 piston. what its wrong with it please help

sorry for my english. my qustions were.why does my 3 cilinder car burn the distributor twice in two months? and should i just change engines because i saw a 92 two door lx in a junk jard with 120k for $300? and do all 90-93 hondas have the same engines with the 90 ex because when i go to some website for parts it looks to me that they have different ****.
The lx has a different motor than the ex. you can make it work though
sounds like a new motor is your best option. not really worth tearing down you existing motor and rebuilding it. The f22a in your car is a common motor and people are parctically giving them away.
