Your timing could be super fucked up.. It could also be the valve spring in there.. it can also be the cam lobing.. ****.. it could be alot of things..

please hit the spell check button. it's a piston ring, not I'm going to wring your neck

anyway.....

let me get this straight, only the #1 cyl has a broken intake valve. if thats the case, check for a broken valve spring, or retainer. just pull the valve cover off and look at it.

if your timing was off you'd most likely have damaged more than one valve.

If you have been running it with the valve making contact with the piston, you may have damaged the piston top as well.

than it sounds like your piston is fuxored. Sounds like its traveling too high and making contact with the valve.

yeah sounds like something wrong with the piston. I guess you just have to pull the head and check it out.....not much else you can do

pull the oil pan off and check to see if your rod nuts are securely fastened (if not it would allow the piston to travel to high and make contact with your valves...

The lx has a different motor than the ex. you can make it work though

sounds like a new motor is your best option. not really worth tearing down you existing motor and rebuilding it. The f22a in your car is a common motor and people are parctically giving them away.
