looking for easy swap into 89 rex si
what engine would be the easiest to swap into the rex? depending on the cost of everything i want to go turbo anfter the swap or go w/ nitrous. i have a greddy turbo on my 97 ex and am wanting a rex w/ *****. also i wanted to know if it were possible to put a 5th gen fromt end on the rex and maybe different tails? has anyone seen this. i heard someone put a 6th gen dash in their rex too? is this possible? for an engine i was thinking b17 gsr cause it might be cheaper than a b16a or b18c1, then i thought b18b cause the compression is low so i could go w/ more boost. i could always put my greddy on the zc i think too. what is everyones opinion? oh and pics of the front end conversion if it is possible

a b16a does not bolt right in, you need a mount kit. A zc will bolt right in though and that would be the cheapest swap, plus your turbo kit will bolt right up. A b17a will definitley cost more than a b16a, because they are hard to find. So it all depends on how much money you gots..... if your broke get a zc. If you are going all motor get a b16a, if you are going turbo get the b18a(it is lower compression)...and if you alot of money go b18c(gsr). Hope this helps out some.
manny
btw. I only know of the 90 integra suspension parts being able to transfer to crx, i dont think that others will work. As for the dash i have heard that it does fit, but needs some special brackets to hold it on. That **** would be tight!!!!!!

b18a what is that out of, i know a teg but what one and year? ls? b18b is the newer ls not sure what gen. anyway b17 is out of the question cause of availability. i thought the si came w/ zc? anyway someone told me to get 5th gen jdm sir spec engine for cheap. i jsut dont know what to do w/ my civic now, but i know i would like to have a rex w/ 6th gen front end and interior and new prelude tails. i just dont want to spend a **** load, i figure the car would cost 2k motor 4k, then try to do the front end conversion myself!!? i dont know
okay, whoa, slow down.
b18a/b bolt in with the same mount kit for b16a... they may be cheaper than a b16a too.
USDM Si came with a d16a6... i think euro and jdm si's came with the ZC
about the body work... you're fairly nuts... i don't think the front ends are gonna convert that easy... although, i personally have thought that a 5th gen conversion would look nice on a crx... you're gonna hafta get a shop to do it. and it'll cost you a lot. crx is pretty the way it is. leave it alone.
the b18a/b will be more turbo friendly
5th gen jdm sir == b16a
with any b-series swap, besides the SiR I swaps, you need to do wiring work, because they're of later years.
good luck.
