Getting Ecu, P30? ITR?
Hey guys, i want to get a new ecu but dont know what to get. I heard i can get some good gains if i use a jdm p30 and the skunk harness on my car. I have an obd2 01 gsr. I tried out that setup and it felt great. I can get it for 500 bucks. Or i know someone selling a 2000 itr ecu for 200 bucks. I havent tried the itr ecu, but does anyone know what would be better. The pricing doesnt really matter but what ecu is overall better. I was also thinking of just getting an obd1 p72 and using it with the harness. Which will give me the best power now? Thanks
your stock ECU should be fine. Besides you'll lose control over the butterflies at 5800 RPM. you'll also change your vtec engagement point.. judging by the mods you have, you also don't need the OBDI P72. your money is better spent elsewhere for now.
I drove my car with an obd1 jdm p30 ecu. I disconnected the secondaries and left them open the whole time, vtec kicked at liek 5700 and it felt so nice. It felt os much better than my stock ecu. I just want to know what an itr ecu is like, thats why im asking. Ive seen people around me drop like .3-.5 in the 1/4 mile with the skunk program on a gsr motor.
