Default CP Rings question

Okay, I'm about to start gapping my rings, but first I need to decipher which is the top ring and which is the middle - and once I decipher that - I need to figure out which side is up and which side is down. Yes, I have the spec sheet for my CP's, no it does not specify.

the left ring is actually narrower and darker in color than the right ring and both have "N 50" stamped on them - although the one on the left is clearly more legible. I'm assuming the stamped side goes down - but I'm not going to proceed based on an assumption.

Thanks...

thicker, darker ring is second ring.

as for teh stampings, they face up. They should've stamped 1 or 2, or at least a 2 on teh rings, all the other rigns that came with JE's and wiseco's have the stampings

the numbers or letters go up! or they may have a very small dent close to the gap and that will also let u know that side goes up!

Since the upper ring is 1mm thick and the middle ring is 1.2mm thick, they cannot be confused. The middle ring will not fit in the upper groove. Any markings on the ring (letters, numbers or dots. etc) is the up side of the ring. It is critical to have the rings facing the right direction because they are tapered or cut to work in that direction.
