Cali smog question
While hunting around for a B18c1/5 for my hatchback Ive found a couple that were located out of state. I know that in order for me to pass at the ref that the motor has to be a USDM one from the same year or newer than my car and retain all of the donor cars emmissions equipment. But what about it being from out of state? I called CARB and they said the motor has to be california certified and there should be a tag on the engine that says if it's either a 49 state or california certified. Anyone know if a GSR is 49-state or cali certified?
ARGGHHHHHH AGAIN???!!!???!!!

Ive read that a million times and it still dosen't awnser my specific question. Is there something on the motor that differnitiates a california engine vs. one from say Nebraska? Like when they run the numbers off the block they are goping to tell me the motor was from a Nebraska car. I think on the accords there is a Cali version that puts out 145hp and a 49 state version that was 150. I just don't want to buy a motor from out of state drop it in, take it to the ref thinking It's gonna pass cause its a US motor and all the emmissions BS is hooked up, but end up failing cause the motor wasn't a California certified engine. Which is what I was told would happen by the rep from CARB or BAR that I spoke to the other day.
