Default How Far is Too Low?

I am in the market for lowering springs. I am just wondering at what height I will start having problems with clearence for city use. This is my daily driver, so I need to get around with this. WHat have been your experiences? Anyone selling springs, let me know. Thanks lot.

I've put some H&Rs with KYB Adjustables.... I like it but...I did put a resonator on my exhaust and it does rub it a lil bit. But I say if it was just the pipe which is what you probably have, it should work just fine and the handling is kick ***!

H&R Race I think lowers abour 2"

Cause after all, we bought Hondas because we like to rip the oil pans off over every speed bump.....

For daily driving...1.7" and lower would just be a pain in the butt for daily driving.

mines prettty low. less than a figner gap all around. im on gc and tokico hp's. For some reason the ride is very harsh and bouncy. Maybe its because i went from lowering springs to coilovers. my advice is to stick with Springs. SMoother ride

i'm not worried about speed bumps, it's the little bits of metal sitting in tall grass! i punctured 2 oil pans thanks to that ****. seeing the oil light come on after you hear a "BAMMM" is not a good feeling. and changing the oil pan in the middle of a field is about as dirty as it gets.

btw, in regards to lowering springs, you want to make sure you retain enough shock travel otherwise your suspension won't be as useful as it could be. riding on the bumpstops around a curve isn't fun.

"For some reason the ride is very harsh and bouncy" Are you kidding? That's what always happens when you have less suspension travel to deal with the same bumps. Force over distance... half the distance, twice the force.

Regarding the original post, it's an extremely subjective question. What difference does it make what other people think is a bouncy ride, or a comfortable ride, if it drives *you* crazy? The original poster needs to get rides in lowered cars to see what *he* thinks.

It's a bit like asking "I want to be cool, what color should I paint my car."

duh.... of course your ride is gonna be worse if you lower your car. When i said "for some reason my ride is VERY harsh" I meant that alot of people who have ground controls and tokcios really like the ride. ALso i stated its probably because i went from springs to coilovers and most of the time springs give a better ride quality. SO dont say it like im some idiot. Its not rocket science. Of course people know that loweirng their car is gonna change the ride quality.

No more than 2" is my sugestion and dont buy cheasy coilovers.

Full coilovers are great.
Springs and shocks are also good.

I basically need to go around the streets of chicago. Not for race purpose. At what height have all of you been able to drive your ludes without having too much problem with clearence?

If you're attempting to go as low as possible.. anything more than a 2" drop you'll start seeing CV boot problems and may end up having to replace those every year.

Lets put it this way. The farthest I am looking at right now is the Neuspeed kit at 1.7 and 1.5 (f/r). Ideally I would get something around or less than 1.5. How does this sound. I shouldn have any problems with these kinds of heights for daily driving, right?

i have 5th gen H&R springs (1.4") and KYB AGX struts and My fenders are right at my tires (205/55/15). I think my springs settled to about 2" or maybe a little less. I think any spring that is over 2" will be too much.

Okay fair enough, but in your first post, saying, "very harsh" meant something different than what you changed it to here, "VERY harsh."

or every other week if you break one and get the replacement from advance auto parts.
