Those would be the loudest and most annoying intake you can possibly buy for your car. One car has them at the local scca autox here. It sounds like crap.

 

Another company made those awhile ago and they were all the rage for about 5 minutes till people realized they sucked.

 

I remember some dude in SHO claims to have shaved a second or so with this intake alone. Everyone was harrasing him about posting time slips with his "FMIS" (front mounted intake system) but never did.

 

Anyone got the FMIS's brother? The electronic BOV? Remember that?

If you havnt tried it..how do you know it doesnt work? Seriously though.

I dont know if it works or doesnt..and Id actually be willing to try one out (if I were given one to test)...but Im not going to say its stupid and call people dumb for using them because of looks.

 

I DO know someone who used it (on an ITR no less). He is now using an Icebox. Nuff said.

HX_Guy, I only say it sucks because we did the whole discussion of the thing and people who did use it could never produce a timeslip (as mentioned above). At most it maybe simulates ram air; which helps some, but not a ton (look at Firebirds with ram air; they aren't much faster than non ram air).

 

u think thats bad ive actually seen people rolling around with intercoolers and not boost! now thats lame
