Default Clutch Shootout: ClutchMasters VS ACT

ive narrowed my choices down to two companies:

1. Clutchmasters Stage 3 w/ clutchmasters(fidanza) flywheel

or...

2. ACT Xtreme PP with SS disk and ACT chromo flywheel

so 1 or 2?

both setups would be fine and you probably wouldnt notice a difference between the two. personally Id go with option 2.

I have a CM stage 4 with the CM FW and I love it.

The pedal feel is very stock and the engagement isn't too harsh from a stop. But slamming it into third it will grab hard and spin the tires. It's very streetable IMO
I assume that the stage 3 would be even easier to daily drive with..

What kind of mileage does the stock clutch run if its driven moderatly... not too hard. Never tracked and only at the strip a handful of times.

^^ 40K if driven like Gramma. Probably even higher than that.

I've been on the Clutchmasters Stage 3 w/ lightened flywheel for over 2 years already, daily driven, 6 HPDE's, an Auto-X and even some trips down the 1/4 mile so I stand by it, no problems for me... I still love it

I have the ACT HD with a near identical disk to the CM stage 3 from Action. I think this setup would have been perfect had i gotten the ACT XT instead.

Clutch Masters stg 3 HANDS DOWN.

Also the Fidanza fly is more streetable since it comes w/ a replacable 'friction disc" rather than the ACT which is one unit.

My Choice: No.1

i'm with TypeR 599, i have a cm2 on my car and i luv it. act is alright, but it's too harsh. cm grabs just as good as act but not as harsh. for cm.

oh yea, a buddy of mine has a cm3 in his hatch(w/ a gsr), it feels just like mine but grabs better.

i rather go with option 1

i had option 2 before on my boosted eg8...that setup was good..but if your daily driven i think its the worst..it was too stiff to drive in stop and go traffic..but it also depends if your traffic is as bad as nova

Stock clutch lasted me 61K and counting. Just something to think about. This includes a few 1/4 mile runs as well

my clutch lasted 88k before the brackets that hold the friction springs in snapped and the **** was sitting loose making love to my flywheel...

the spoon flywheel and cm stage 3 rocks *** as long as im not in traffic, since most of the kevlar is gone on the disc the engagement isnt good anymore... hence why I need to replace it, otherwise the car didnt feel different at all after I got it in, until I realized my car chirped all the way to 5th gear after 2k of break in...
