Default Radiator Fan -- STUMPED

Okay, I have replaced the thermostat, the thermo switch, blead coolent lines...and when I jump the connector the radiator fan turns on. Why will it not turn on automatically when the car is hot??? Could the thermoswitch be wired wrong??? Anyone have an answer?

Thanks,
Dustin

I guess it's possible that it's defective.

You can check it by putting it in a pot of water. Hook it up to an ohm-meter, it should read open circuit. As you heat up the water, it will suddenly read short (0 ohms) sometime before the water boils. If you have a thermometer that reads high enough, like a meat thermometer, you can check that it closes the circuit at the proper temperature.

These days, Philly isn't very warm. You might not be able to get your cooling system hot enough to trigger this.

Just a dumb idea... Did you jump the plug with a paper clip? Maybe you spread the connectors apart so they're not real tight on the actual switch??
