You don't have to paint the side skirts or buy an ITR front lip

i though i just seen this topic 2 weeks ago, but.. you're just asking for advice..

if you're looking for another integra, itr is worth the money, unless you get all the itr goodies in another integra.. only things i care about it lsd/gearing and itr head.. everything else isn't as important to me me.. so if to buy used integra, i'd go for the cheaper one with all the goodies that i need..

Couple things to know about the R.

1. First and foremost, it doesn't make the greatest daily driver, for the very simple reason that it's at about a 90% risk it'll get stolen for sure. The last thing this world needs is less DC2R's. I'd give my left nut to own one and keep it safe... but safe is the hard part.

2. The car was built for a track. To fully appreciate its abilities and craftsmanship, it needs to be driven on a road course.

3. The engine and car all together is amazing. If you do not plan to use the engine/chassis/technology to its potential, maybe a GSR would be better, and leave the R to someone who would use it to it's fullest potential. This is the big reason I wouldn't buy an R. I don't have the seat time, time, nor the money to treat the car the way it should be if you know what I mean.

Do you have any specific questions? That might help the ITR guys a little better to answer your questions.

Being serious now.

The ITR is a more capable vehicle than the other Integras due to slight changes in virtually every aspect of the vehicles equipment. Basically you can buy an ITR and start with a very capable platform with a lot of the work done for you. Or you can buy another Integra and have to go through lots of other little things before you reach the point that the ITR starts at. I think buying an R is a very wise decision.

<sarcastic nerd voice>
other than the 8400 redline on the tachometer, suede like alcantera seats, roughly 200 horses, a polished shift **** with red lettering, a substantial amount of chassis rigidity compared to the inferior model integras, the signature honda red valve cover, the so-sought for 5 lug oem-equipped big brake set up, the discontinued re010's mounted onto the infamous type R rims civic owners beg to own one day.....

theres absolutely nothing great about the Type R!

if you've crashed 17 cars, what is going to happen so it's not 18? I'd rather you not crash an R for the 18th...

buy a hyundai, you can still put an H on the rear end if you want

Who said anything about crashing 17 cars? Read man.

And if this question has to be asked, don't buy an ITR. It's either you have it, or you don't....and you don't. If you have to ask a question like this, you don't have the passion required to own an R.

take it easy man, but yea he should probably use the search feature. to answer your question, The ITR is different in amny ways from the GS-R or RS model. Many, many, many chassis reinforments are added to the ITR, like in the roof, subframes, and even in the trunk. comes with the 195 HP motor, stock 5 lug, and a hell of an interior...theres much more but cant think of it off the top of ym head. downside is that these are targeted for theft .

good luck

I just upgraded from a 6th gen Civic, D-16 motor and I cannot explain how incredibly fun the R is to dRRRRRRive. Also, one more thing, VTEC is amazing! The more you learn about the car the more you'll fall in LUV!
