Default b16a2 cams vs GSR cams

I keep finding different specs for these cams.. some places list the 99si cams as more duration and slightly more lift. other sites lists the opposite..even when I search the HT arhives I find different numbers now I know the first gen b16's are inferior to gsr cams but what about the 99+? I have a set of 99's and a set of GSR cams, which do I use for turbo and which do I sell?

sell the si cams, lots of testimonials on gsr cams being very good for turbo. b16 cams are teh poo poo. But I would go sell them both and get ctr cams. vtec hits soo hard.

b16a:

Int 265 duration .412 lift
Exh 267 duration .379 lift

GSR:

Int 274 duration .423 lift
Exh 276 duration .378 lift

The trick setup is to use the GSR intake cam with a b16a exhaust cam. The idea is you want lots of lift without too much duration. People also have very good luck with GSR intake and exhaust.

Ive also heard people taking an ITR cam and having it reground to shorten the duration to GSR specs. Although i havent seen any dynos charts.

You dont want too big of a cam on the exh side because boost will go in the intake valves and right out the exhaust because both cams are open at the same time (ie valve overlap) You need the air to go into the engine and not right out the manifold.

Guys like GSR cams because of the more duration. But if think about it CTR have more then both!!

Tuning will make all the difffernce in the world when your car is done! No matter what cams you use!

More lift, less duration, and more boost

Right! Therefore, GSR cams are the best for a turbo app.?

na just get a set of good cam gears and use the ctr with the overlap dialed out.
You will make more power with higher lift.
