why do you need a heat shield? the turbo is the hottest thing in that engine bay by far, a heat sink maybe, heat shield everything around it.

what are you talking about? Putting a heat sheild on the turbo itself will reduce underhood temps....

im confused
i always thought you would want the heat to dissapate away from the turbo. i would think the heatshield keeps the turbo warmer, thus heating up the air inside of it.....

I always thought the opposite. You want it to be hot (exhaust side) so it leaves the exhaust faster. Now if you could shield the intake side and figure out a way for the temp to drop, and then perhaps high temp coat the whole exhaust side to keep it hot it would benefit both ways.

The hotter the turbo is, the more power it will produce. You want to KEEP the heat in the turbine assembly. It's not only pressure, but temperature difference that helps it spool. The hotter you keep it, the better you are... heat wrapping the turbo, manifold, etc. Heat wrap on the downpipe has the opposite, negative effect, as far as spool goes.

Good luck.

obviously you dont want your compressor side super hot though as you will have a hair dryer on roids.

sheilds look good on your nissans twins.

Thanks for all the coments guys, i had a few people sending me IM's asking prices, I could do $35 shipped fo them, any less than that an its not worth the time. a few other sites sell them for like 65bucks. Also its easy to make i just used alunimum, and polished it, then rolled it and made a bracket. Easy to do but the first one was very time consuming to get right. Now i have a mockup one to go off so i does not take to long.
