aight guys heres the problem...im changing out the timing belt on my sisters 98 prelude SH and got everything TDC but the marks on oil pump and water pump where the balancer belt is are off. the oil pump looks like it has some white marks and is lined up but it looks like the stock notch is off like a milimeter...as for the water pump the notch is all the way on opposite side of its pully (12 and 6 o'clock). i did a seach and someone said that it doesnt really matter about the marks on the balancer but i want to know if it would be best to put everything back to the stock honda notches or stay with the white painted on marks?

 

The crankshaft timing mark is on the FLYWHEEL, not the crank pulley

do you have a helms?


and the balancer belt you have to align it you need to use a bolt in the maintence hole etc etc.

 

im not sure if this pic will post since its on my pc and not on a server but here goes nothing. If it does not work email me and ill send you a pic of how the marks are suposed to be lined up.
