How many O2 sensors does a 93 VTEC have?
I did a search and couldn't come up with anything. I have a 93 VTEC and the check engine light recently came on. I checked the CEL code and it's a 41 which indicates an O2 sensor problem if I'm not mistaken. I've been looking to find a replacement O2 sensor and checked with several shops. Surprisingly, I've been getting different responses as to what was needed.
Some shops told me that I need two O2 sensors, one before and one after the cat. Another shop told me I needed 4?!?!
When I checked the Hondaautomotiveparts site, it lists only 1 O2 sensor before the cat. So which is it? Do I just need 1 or more? Thanks in advance.

there should only be one for the H22 right before the cat.
Usually B series and other motors have 2. One by the header and one by the cat. Thats probably why you're getting different answers from people who dont know the differences between the motors.
Hope that helps. Can anyone else confirm this.

There should only be one that is located on the downpipe fo the header.

Does anyone know the real difference between code 41 and code 1? i know one is for the heated O2... What could the problem be, the sensor or wiring to the sensor? This is a problem that I have always had ever since the motor swap about a 1.5 yrs ago and have never been able to conquer... Thanks for the input.

41 is for the sensor heater. And there could be two reasons: sensor itself or wiring. There is a whole procedure to solve this. It's in helms though.
