cylinder head and block swap interchangability question
this may have already been asked but i tried searching to no avail.
I have a 93 integra LS with the 1.8 non-vtec dohc b18a? motor, which has about 160,000 miles on it and it runs great never leaks or burns any oil the oil is clean. i take really good care of this car. all i have is an intake (long type with k&n), cat back exhaust, and poly motor mounts.
will a 2.0 or another block work with my 1.8 head and give it higher compression and more power? i realize i would have to change a lot of things but i was just wondering if anyone has done this. im thinkin ill get a 2.0 at a junk yard.. get it machined, balance everything, take my head off, rebuild and port polish it, and put it on the other motor, port the intake or get a better one, get bigger fuel injectors (would i have to?), get a ignition box and coil, nology hot wires, +4 spark plugs.. and run it off 91 or 93 octane.. any suggestions and what all should be changed to do this right? (if possible) ty -Thomas

what 2.0L are u thinking of getting? the only 2.0L honda motors are out of the early 90's prelude and the S2000. i dont think either of those are the ones you had in mind. what you could do is, keep your block and put a GS-R (vtec) head on it.
edit: oops i forgot about the shitty CRV motor, that's 2.0L too. maybe thats what you had in mind. either way, that wouldnt be worth the money. you need vtec to be fast.
