Where is the temperature sending unit located on a 1990 DX?
I just rebulit my sisters 1990 Civic DX and all is working great so far. The only thing is that my coolant temperature gauge is not working at all. It won't even budge. I had the ECU flashing the code for the coolant temp gauge and I found that I didn't plug the one in that is below the distributor. Pluged it in and the code went away. However that didn't fix the temperature gauge problem. On my eclipse their is a temperature sending unit for the ECU and one for the gauge. Is the civic like that as well? If so where is it located? I can't find it to save my life!
there are actually 3 - 2 on end of the head - the one for the ECU has 2 wire connector and the one for the gauge has one wire connector - there is also one on the back of the block right by the oil filter that is for the cooling fan
the one on the back of the block must also goto the ECU because mine is bad, the cold rev limiter is always on and i have no check engine lights.. my raditor fan does not come on at all as well.. but it won't over heat cuz is winter.. unless i've been idling for about 30 minutes
