Default OT: Honda bicycles

Just talked to my ex-roommate who is in Vegas at the Interbike Bicycle Trade-show. He said that Honda is releasing a line of BMX & full-suspension moutain bikes available thru select bicycle shops. Couldn't give me too much more info at the moment!

Hmmm....wonder if they'll offer a "R" version!

Honda kick-&-go....nice!

It has also been rumored that Toyota is moving into the folding bike manufacturing field. Many manufacturers have teamed with bike companies in the past to offer special deals; ie. Mercedes = AMP bicycles, Subaru = Specialized, VW = Trek, etc, but this is quite different in that the actual auto manufacturers are creating new divisions to handle these lines.

You can get a Porsche mountain bike too...at least you could a few years ago, I don't know if they still make it

porshe bikes are expensive. they have disk brakes, cross drilled rotors. but i dont' know how good they will be. Dirt will probably get stuck in there often.

I wonder the same thing. Mine has some rust on it, but still works great

All mountain bike brake rotors are drilled (they also have large chunks of metal remobed). It is for weight savings. Dirt clearance isn't really an issue.

That said the Porsche bikes are vastly overpriced

-buji, who wishes he was riding his bike right now

I used to work for one of Performance Bicycles retail stores (the one at the White Flint Mall in Maryland), but I never got a chance to go to Vegas. Went to Philly one year, those trade shows are sweet. But, now that I am not in the business and not getting pro-deals it is so hard to pay retail, knowing the true cost.

I fully agree guys! I worked in a shop for 13 years. Luckily I still get everything at cost...guess I'm grandfathered in! Heck, I was even spoiled worse when I raced USPRO on the road. Try getting everything for free and then having to go back to paying for it!

Same here Chris .......

The owner of the last shop I worked at was the Best Man in my wedding ....... hehehehehehe.

But I don't ride anymore ...... in fact the only bike I have left is my mountain bike, I sold all my road bikes to pay off debts and buy car parts!
