Alright, i have a 1997 Honda Civic CX hatch, when i am in certain gears, going certain speeds, i will hear a really annoying rattling sound that sounds like my exhaust rattling bad, but when i press in the clutch, or speed up / shift gears, it seems to go away fro a little bit. Does anyone know what this would be? Anyone know how to fix it? Driving me f*ckin insane! Thanks! =]
BTW i just got this car a little while back, use to have a bomb crx, so this is new territory to me.

do you have a lower tie bar in the rear? Thats what my problem is, my exhaust is always hitting it and makes a terrible nosie as well. What i did was took an old rubber bushing and placed it between my exhaust and my tie bar it makes little to no noise now. your exhaust might also be rubbing against a sway bar or control arm. you can fix it the same way that i said before though.

More than likely it is a heat shield around the converter or on your floor board, incertain gears under cetain loads, you will created just enough vibration to make it go away. You can fix it with a torch or anything that can cut it off.

What he said, except most of the heatshields will unbolt.

Yes, they should just unbolt. I recommend wearing gogles, though, because of the rust. PB B'Laster, too if needed.
