Default new problem

Ok, I have a new problem wiht my buddy's b16. After sitting idle or driving inthe city the oil light will come on then go off. Then a little bit later it will come on again then the engine with start over heating? Anyone have an idea what might be causing that? I'm at a loss. oil seems to be pumping fine and there are no air bubbles in the cooling system. I am at a loss.

how do you know if oil is pumping? do you have a gauge? check oil levels yet? never ever drive with oil pressure light on....you might be able to drive from point a to point b without problems but you are doing serious damage to engine's bearings. the will seize up and your motor is toast

Agreed. get a real oil pressure gauge on the thing and look to see if it actually has pressure or not.

Immediately stop driving the vehicle and check the oil pressure. It sounds like the oil pump has gone bad.

why do people do this, their oil light comes on and they figure it'll fix itself or its not big deal. Sorta like when your engine starts knocking, for heaven's sake why keep driving it? Anyway, yea check your pressure, pump, even drop your pan who knows whats in there making it act weird
