Default Pioneer Deq-9200

Strait to the point. What does output rca have to do with amps? Usually the stronger the signal the better right? Well the Deq puts out 5mV. Compared to my head unit, its pretty weak. Now, when I plug the HU RCA outs into the amp... the speakers becomes more alive. Now when i hook it up throught the Eq... my speakers are at al very low level... Could it be the measly 5mV output from the eq? How could i solve this? Thanks. Also could some one explain crossover points and frequencies? TIA

Correct me if i'm wrong....but the eq output is 5 mV as in "mili"volts......that's horrible. Most headunit's RCA's put out around 2Volts, higher end Headunits put out 4 and 5 volts, higher the output voltage the cleaner and "Stronger" the signal, you can even buy a signal ampilifier to boost a 4 or 5 volt headunit to around 8v or higher (if you ever needed to), but 5 mV?....my friend, lose the EQ.
Now, crossover points, if set to a high pass, a crossover will allow whatever the set frequency (say 100hz) and ABOVE to play through your speakers, and the opposite if you set it for low pass, that will allow the set frquency (again 100hz for example) and BELOW to play. it effectivly blocks certain frequencies from being reproduced through certain speakers (since you only want low frequencies through subwoofers and mid and high range frequencies through your interior drivers).
hope this helped, if not, post again and i will reply again.
