Rev-limiter, speed-limiter, how they work.
So the rev-limiter cuts fuel when you go a few hundred RPM over redline.
Does the speed-limiter also cut fuel when you hit a certain RPM in 5th gear?
Wouldn't it be safer to drop random sparks instead of fuel like the MSD does?

I gotta question, how the heck does the ecu know when to kick in the speed limiter? I'm running a PW0, but i have a cable driven speedo. How the heck does it know i'm at 110?
I do not believe you are correct, when you hit the rev limiter the ignition drops and stops the car from over reving, hence if you have a gutted cat and you hit the limiter and the car is hot enough all the unburnt fuel will ignite in the exhaust and you will shoot a little flame. Also if you have ever owned an MSD ignition some off them have a built in soft step rev limiter. If the fuel cuts off when you hit the rev limiter your car would be runing very lean very fast. When you hit fuel cut it will actually shut the car down.

your ECU knows all
the rev limiter and the speed governor are both controlled byt he ECU. Reprogrammed ECUs remove the governor and usually raise or remove the rev limiter.
