Default LS Rods in Mini-Me...what Rod Bearings to use???

Well...my friend and I are goin to practice building motors...so what better one to practice on than building a D16a6 Mini-Me. We already have shot peened LS Rods with bearings for an LS...but we wanted to make sure if we can use those...or do we have to get different bearings...say like for a D-Series.

Setup of choice thus far:
D16Z6 Head
D16A6 Block
LS Rods
D15B7 Pistons
D16Y8 Head Gasket (2 Layer)

11:1 cr hopefully

Any extra insite would be very helpful...cause I'm still kinda new to Hondas and my friend only knows stuff about B-Series engines.

B7 pistons wont work. Wrist pin location is 3mm lower...meaning that they will slap the head nicely when you try to turn the motor over. Stay with the stock pistons or go with ultra-high compression D16A1 pistons.

About the rod bearings, not sure. I'd use LS I guess.

Damn...was hoping to use those cause they are flat topped and would give a nice street compression ratio. What can we do to bring down the cr with the D16A1 pistons? I'm goin to be driving this car as my daily driver, and we have shitty gas here in CA...and I buy the cheapest I can at that. We're lookin for something in the nature of 10.8-11.2:1. Thnx for tellin me ahead of time though about the wrist pin location being lower...that probobly just saved us an engine.

Still lookin for a deffinate answer about what bearings to use with LS rods in a mini-me.

D16A1 pistons will give you like 12.5:1 compression...there is no coming back from that...just run the A6 pistons you'll be fine

i agree with bauleycivic- as for the bearingsi remember hearing that the z6 and ls bearings are the same- so id assume either one of those would work

get the a1 pistons and get a thick *** **** cometic gasket , might bring it down to 11 somthing , very good street ratio

Alright...cool...don't have to buy new bearings

From what my friend said...you can bring the compression down only by 0.5...so we may be ruling that idea out. I'm probobly goin to be calling and asking what the limits are to the thickness of the gasket.
