Default Tein coilovers

Getting a gen5 lude soon and want to do the basics first. My bro told me that these were what I should look into. Mainly the Tein Type Flex. Any opinions on these?

i guess for the daily driver, the SS might make more sense. running around with 10k/8k spring rates might be a problem. i was reminded of that today as i drove around downtown san diego and realized that not every city in the world has nicely paved roads like LA does. i swear everytime i go down to SD i have a new rattle, knock, or weird jiggling sound, and i imagine it'd be worse with a stiffer suspension.

but yeah, if it was performance time, the flex (or actually the JIC or Buddy Clubs) would be preferable to the SS. Still i think the SS's can hold their own at an auto-x, for the casual auto-x'er.

I've got HA's with upper pillow-ball mounts and I am completely satisfied with them... I just wish I could use the EDFC with them

If your want to be adjusting your spring rate for track use, then the type FLEX would be much better, especially with the in cockpit EDFC. I myself am going with the SS because I will be daily driving my lude when it gets up and running. I have seen the SS on Ebay for as low as $870 one time. TEIN also offers the SS with pillowball mounts for an additional fee.

i heard the HA's have a rusting problem? Is this true? Is it a common problem? I considering picking some up. What are the pillowball mounts for? Is it an important thing that I should have?
