Question: ITR LSD
Guys i have a 97 USDM motor and tranny and would like to know, if there is LSD why does the passenger wheel spin when the car is in gear? When is the wheel supposed to lock up? Right now I am taking the motor out of my old car and was just curious.

Exactly.
Exactly.

Ok, have you ever taken a D or B-series tranny apart? If the clutch is released and if the transmission is in neutral. The wheels will still have some inertial movement. The mainshaft and countershaft are always spinning just not engaged in a gear. So the movement of the shafts will turn the final drive and a tire will rotate...If you grab the tire it will stop and the other might spin as well. Does that help.

That helps for the neutral aspect but if the car is in gear both the wheels should spin, even if in opposite directions, right? I was told that tranny was type r and had bunches of fun before the accident. Never tested or layed any rubber down to see if it was true. Does the tranny have any markings or designators on it?
